Cultural Tours Of Bali - A Vacation Traveler's Guide
Islands have always held a special fascination for tourists across the globe. And, Bali is no exception. An Indonesian island, Bali is the biggest tourist destination in the country. One of the major attractions of this place is its rich cultural heritage. A hub for art, Bali is highly regarded for its sculpture, dance, painting, metalwork, music, etc. Inhabited mainly by migrants from the mainland of Asia, Bali has a history dating back to 3000 B.C. It is, therefore, befitting that the traditional practices of this place have survived the test of time. An unadulterated Bali bears testimony to this inarguable fact.
Art enjoys an exalted position in Bali. The people of this place are deft craftsmen and prodigiously gifted musicians. The Gameplan music of this place is renowned all over the world. A musical bonanza created from an ensemble of instruments, including Xylophones, Drums, Metallophones, Gongs and Flutes, the art is a treat to both the eyes and the ears. In addition to this, Bali is famous for its handicrafts, woodcarving, and dance forms. The Pendet, Baris, Topeng, Barong, Kecak, and Legong are some of the most popular Balinese dances. Despite constant inflow of foreign immigrants, the legacy has largely remained untouched and these art forms are ample proof of this.
One of the most popular and widely-watched events in the world is the event preceding Nyepi, the New Year celebration of this place. Bali prides itself for the spectacular performance, where large, colorful sculptures known as Ogoh-Ogoh monsters are lined up along the streets, and later paraded and burnt.
For a tourist, the island of Bali is nothing less than a masterpiece painted by an accomplished artist. Lush green paddy fields, dense forests, picturesque beaches and mountains that kiss the sky make for an amazing view. The scenic beauty of this island, coupled with grand temple architecture and interesting ceremonies, make Bali a prime tourist spot.
The prehistoric roots of Bali are exemplified by stone pillar inscriptions and intricate rock-cut memorials located at Gunung Kawi. Although marred by violent carnages and blood-shed, Bali has changed little in terms of its value systems. The Hindu legacy of the island is still visible in the Balinese community practices. Tourists visiting Bali would find the Gunung Kawi monument, the Museum Le Mayeur and Puru Ulun Danu Bratan veritable sight-seeing locations offering records of Bali's ancient history and heritage.
Beautiful Products From Bali

Who knows what your passion is, you may be a professional designer, a landscaping artist or maybe just a happy holiday maker, but who ever you are, I'm sure Bali will not fail to delight and indulge your senses.
Bali has almost anything your heart could desire from household décor to batik art, the latter in the form of an abundance of sarongs and kimonos or even just simple stylish batik shirts, in so many of its stores. Its local manufacturers have many, usually family run, workshops producing a vast array of products such as beautiful handmade boxes or baskets, contemporary wooden sculptures and amusingly crafted wooden masks. There are also a great deal of lovely ceramics here that include a huge selection of pots and tiles, or Bali mosaic vases and frames. The variety of styles and designs of Jewelry here also is quite overwhelming to may customers, from Bali silver balls, and seashell jewelry, to precious stone set in beautifully hand crafted silver or gold settings. There is truly some worthy gift to be purchased for any and every taste.
Pottery can be found almost anywhere on the island at many of the roadside shops and stalls but if you are looking for something very special you could try Jenggala Keramik in the Jimbaran area.
One of the most exceptional skills the Balinese have is for their beautiful woodcarving and the variations you discover here are always plentiful and unique. The exceptionally intricate workmanship on their Bali doors is amazing, but they can just as easily delight you with their work on a modest hand carved picture frame. There are many fine examples of this type of work in the streets surrounding Ubud, in the centre of Bali, but also some on display at the Jimbaran Gallery.
They can, and do, lovingly apply their great sculpting skills to producing fine stonework and interesting furniture also, resulting in a highly original choice of Bali statues and beautifully finished handmade furniture.
The cute and very decorative Balinese umbrellas are also widely produced here as they are in constant demand of their local ceremonies and festivals. The island also offers much locally grown produce and spices, chili, cinnamon, cloves, vanilla pods for example or even cocoa beans and café luwak are all produced here also These are usually easily available in handy small sizes for your holiday kitchen or souvenir needs.
Many of the beautiful Bali products can easily be found in the markets in the main towns, Ubud, Sukawati and Bedigul are probably your best destinations for some serious holiday shopping though, so leave yourself some room in your luggage. Happy Shopping!

Bali Beaches - Discover the Beaches on the Southern Tip of the Island
Mainly known as the Bukit Peninsula, the Bali beaches here are set along cliffs or located in little bays giving each beach a totally different character. Today the amazing waves of these beaches attract surfers from all over the world. But more other travellers who want to enjoy the stunning views and relax at the beach are discovering the beauty of the South Bali beaches too.
The most deserted of all the Bali beaches in the Bukit Peninsula are probably Green Ball and Nyang Nyang beach. In both cases there are hardly any facilities here, nor easy access. Once you arrive you need to climb down to get to the water.
Green Ball doesn't have a beach so surfers can jump straight in and swim to the waves. As for Nyang Nyang make sure you are there on time before the low tide sets in. And for both beaches remember to leave some energy left for the climb back up!
If you still want a pretty deserted beach but at the same time enjoy some food and drinks at a restaurant then Balangan is a wonderful beach to head to. Here you can find a long stretch of soft sandy beach and you can easily jump in for a swim or chill away in one of the many sea puddles. Surfers come here as well to catch the waves located further off shore.
Seeking a crowd? Then there are three options of Bali beaches which are in itself totally different. The most popular is Uluwatu beach. This cliff beach is definitely for die-hard surfers who are able to tackle the high waves. But if you can't resist jumping in the stunning azure blue water ask around to discover where it's safe to swim.
The other two South Bali beaches are Dreambeach, also known as New Kuta Beach and Padang Padang Beach. While Dreambeach has a long stretch of clean sand, sun loungers, restaurants and resorts Padang Padang is located in a tiny bay with just a Indonesian Warungs around the corner.
So as you can imagine each beach attracts a different crowd. Dreambeach Bali seems to be looking more like Kuta and Jimbaran beach. Padang Padang is very low-scale and attracts a crowd that mainly wants to sunbath on the beach while the surfers head into the water when the right waves arrive.
If you are staying in Kuta-area, Sanur or Nusa Dua it's easy to spend a day at one of the South Bali Beaches. And if you want to take it easier there are many Bali accommodations in the area from where you can enjoy the beaches to the fullest.

Three Miraculous Things in Bali
Many foreigners who visit Bali usually said that Bali is a magical place-a palace or kingdom for goddesses and gods-which has never bored anyone who comes to visit the island. It is even stated as one of the most popular tourist destinations and, not only stopped to those statements; they also remarked Bali is more well-known than Indonesia itself-the country where Bali becomes the part of its region. The island is even awarded as the world best island by The International Travel Magazine!
Bali is divided into nine regencies (eight regencies and one municipality) with its own capital, i.e. Buleleng, Jembrana, Karangasem, Badung, Denpasar, Gianyar, Klungkung, and Bangli. These districts have several places which you would enjoy to visit-and, actually, they have different kind of places to be offered. Some are for traditional thingies and customs (with its Bali Aga-original people in Bali-practice) 'though they are also some ordinary customs which you can see everywhere in Bali, some others could be done for natural recreation (beaches, mountains, lakes, etc), the modern lifestyles mixture with the conventional living (foreigners love this part), its history (with the temples, statues, and some kingdoms), and so on.
There are actually three miraculous places to visit which always make people feel fascinated of this island-because they are very wonderful! They are the beaches, the temples, and the traditional villages.
I. BEACHES
If you want to visit beaches in Bali, there are some beaches spread at all parts of the island, as follows:
1. In Badung, you could go to Kuta Beach, Suluban Beach, and Nusa Dua Beach.
2. In Denpasar, there are Sanur Beach and Benoa Harbor.
3. For Karangasem District, we have Padang Bai Beach and Jemeluk Beach.
4. For Tabanan District, there is only one beach, Soka Beach.
5. In Jembrana, there are Medewi Beach, Delod Brawah Beach, and Perancak Beach.
6. In Buleleng, there is one beautiful beach, Lovina Beach.
From these beaches, the most favorite based on the votes by the visitors is Lovina Beach in Buleleng, Many people love to see dolphins there, especially when they jump out of the water and spin at the air, usually in the morning. After that, many foreigner people said that they love Kuta Beach-because along the pedestrian road, there are several antique shops which offered some cute stuff with a cheap price (unfortunately, it only happens for Balinese people, because we can bid price to the sellers).
II. TEMPLES
There are some temples which become the favorite places for foreigner, such as:
1. Uluwatu Temple, Taman Ayun Temple, and Pucak Mangu Temple in the District of Badung.
2. Jagatnatha Temple, Maospahit Temple, Petilan Pangerebongan Temple, and Sakenan Temple in Denpasar.
3. Penataran Sasih Temple, Kebo Edan Temple, Pusering Jagat Temple, Mangening Temple, Pengulingan Temple, and Goa Gajah (Elephant Cave) Temple in the District of Gianyar.
4. Kehen Temple and Puncak Penulisan Temple in the District of Bangli.
5. Taman Sari Temple, Watu Klotok Temple, Panti Timbrah Temple, and Goa Lawah Temple in the district of Klungkung.
6. Besakih Temple in the district of Karangasem.
7. Alas Kedaton Temple, Rambut Siwi Temple, and Ulun Danu Beratan Temple in the District of Tabanan.
8. Brahma Vihara-Arama Temple, Meduwe Karang Temple, Beji Temple, Dalem Jagaraga Temple, Pulaki Temple, Ponjok Batu Temple, and Dalem Sangsit Temple in Singaraja.
Those temples have their own myths behind the construction. Yet, most of the people love the myths of Kebo Edan Temple and Rambut Siwi Temple. The myths usually come along with a very deep meaning.
III. TRADITIONAL VILLAGES
There are several amazing villages with its traditional way of life in Bali, such as Mengwi, Batubulan, Mas, Belega and Bona, Sebatu and Pujung, Peliatan, Celuk, Batu Kaang, Thingan, and Kamasan. But my most favorite consisted of only two places id est Trunyan Village and Tenganan Village. At these two villages, the most original people in Bali still live and do their traditions/practices-at these two places, you can find dead body is arranged under trees for the process of decomposing. Unlike people in other places in Bali who do cremation for the dead body, Trunyanese and Tengananese still maintain this tradition adopted from India.

Bali Beachfront Villas Offer Luxury and Splendor
Bali not only offers up its gorgeous beaches, but also has mountains and fields for you to enjoy. The culture of Bali is something all unto itself and can be soaked in by taking a trip to its many temples. Traveling to Bali will be a step back in time to when things were simpler, less industrialized. Staying at Bali beachfront villas will offer you the opportunity to relax and unwind in privacy and peace. The luxury and splendor of your villa is the perfect escape from all your stresses.
Booking your trip to Bali beachfront villas will allow you to choose from different packages. You have the ability to stay for four days and three nights, and this package includes a tour of Bali for two of your vacation days. Each tour will give you an inside look at the culture of Bali, you will interact with the people and see all the important and noteworthy sites. Your tour guide will be knowledgeable and answer any and all questions you may have. Along with your package deal, transportation to and from the villas to the airport will be provided. You can also arrange for a car to take you to any spot in Bali you so desire, maybe for a night out dancing!
One of the most amazing things about Bali beachfront villas is their location. The villas are situated along the beach, some even situated directly over the sea. You will feel as one with the ocean, waking up and going to sleep each night to the peaceful sounds of waves lapping along the beach. The ocean is not the only water at your disposal; a private pool and Jacuzzi are available at Bali beachfront villas.
You will notice the unique decor of your Bali beachfront villas from the moment you arrive. Each stone was specially picked and placed as they come from Palimanan Hill and are gorgeous. The stones are carved with patterns of mythology and religion and are unique and extremely distinctive. You will find these stones throughout the villas, in the main buildings and often in the villas themselves. They add a touch of culture to your stay.
One of the greatest things about booking Bali beachfront villas is knowing that you can go anytime of year. The weather in Bali is mild, so traveling throughout the year is fine. If you want to escape e frigid winter, Bali is the place. If you are facing hurricane season and need to escape, come to Bali. Because the climate is preferred, there are times that are more difficult to book your villa, as many people want to visit. During the months of July and September, you may have a hard time booking if not done in advance. Regardless of when you visit, you will not be disappointed in your choice to stay at Bali beachfront villas.
Bali - An Ultimate Honeymoon Getaway
Are you planning for a holiday or a honeymoon this summer? Are you on strict budget, but still want some great sightseeing and lavish cuisine on your plate? Then why not try out the tropical islands this year? Bali, IndonesiaâEUR(TM)s most sought after holiday destination is considered to be an ideal hotspot for couples as well as family, to tour, enjoy and relax when you are on your vacations.
Bali is rated among the top 100 holiday destinations around the world. It is greatly popular for its culture, tradition and also for the hospitality and care of the locals over there. Bali has a long history of its own, which defines for its blended cultures and tastes. Initially the Dutch were very attracted by the natural greenery, hotspots and wildlife on this island, and thus they migrated here. They built lavish colonies and Bali villas for their personal use, which were greatly refined on both taste and architecture. The villas tapped every part of nature that was naturally available on this island.
The private villas still stand tall today in Bali, and are owned by people who let them out to tourists who visit the place. These villas are beautifully designed and planned, with walls and ceilings of wood, and floors made of stone. Since Bali has a hot and humid climate, the villas are spaciously built to let in the gentle breeze that blows across the place.
Some of these villas have now been redesigned into lavish five star or even seven star villas and suits, with fully air-conditioned bedrooms and living rooms. Foliage is made a part of every room, so that you feel you are living with nature all the time. Apart from this, these villas also provide you with a personal chef who is trained in world class cuisines, and can serve you any platter you wish for, anytime and anywhere you demand. What more can you ask for on such a lavish holiday as this one? Thus going for Bali Villa Rental is a great option indeed.
But if you are on strict budget you need not worry. There are some private villas that are really cheap and affordable, and offer the same services as good hotels. Now, if you were planning to book a good five-star hotel in Bali for your stay, you can opt for the villas as well, because they come at nearly the same cost. What differs is the experience and the enjoyment that one is guaranteed on their stay in these villas.
There are many locations where you can select your villas. If you are on the look-out for some beautiful sand beaches and partying night-life, then Seminyak is the place you should be in. If you are peace loving and love the country side more, then Canggu is a spot you should consider renting a villa in. You can see the vast rice and paddy fields from these villas. If you are a lover of art and culture, then Ubud is the place for you. It has some amazing art works for you to see and admire.

a little square of heaven...
i'm a cake snob...yes, i am, i freely admit it because i bake my own and i know what should taste good. personally, i find that in Bali there are not a lot of great cake options. so where do i go when i get that rumbling in my tummy for something sweet? to Bali Deli of course on Jl. Kunti. and what do i order? the lamington square. it is a little piece of heaven captured in a cake...jam, cream, sponge and coconut. delightfully addictive!
mozzarella restaurant...the perfect spot
when you live in one of the top tourist destinations around, you are constantly overwhelmed by choices of places to eat. places open and close all the time but eventually you get to have your favourites. for me, mozzarella is such a place. located at the beginning of Jl. Padma in Legian, the staff always greet with a smile and show you to your table. the service continues to excel throughout the evening, staff are attentive, warm and friendly. the menu is varied, focusing on mediterranean cuisine. i must admit that i always have the minute steak with blue cheese sauce. it is delicious and always satisfies. did i mention that the cocktails menu is buy one get one free too? just another reason to get yourself down to this restaurant for dinner. again it is their attention to detail that impresses. when you make a reservation they write your name in gold ink on a leaf and leave it on the table. it's always these little touches that delight me...

A Brief History of Bali Island
With thousands of destinations to choose from, it can be difficult to find a luxury getaway. Luckily for vacationers, Bali Island is one of the most scenic and breathtaking escapes in the world. It not only is known for its amazing beaches and unique culture, but it provides any family with a tropical vacation. No matter what type of accommodations you can afford, Bali Island is an awe-inspiring escape.
With over three million inhabitants, it is no surprise that these people are extremely close. Families are tightly interwoven, and support is a constant reminder of how much they need one another. Most of these families practice Hinduism, which began around the island in the eleventh century. For this reason, art is very strong presence on the island. It is not uncommon for every family member to either be an artist or dancer. From painting to music - these passions are welcome in the beautiful territory. Therefore, it is no surprise that Bali residents make most of their income from handcrafts and other creations.
Although terrorist attacks took place in 2002 and recently, the island is still beautiful to visit. Natives have held strong positive outlooks and are constantly supporting one another through these tough times. While some vacationers are afraid to visit this island, it is completely safe and uplifting. Therefore, if you are looking for a great getaway, the Bali Island still can provide you with serenity and peace.
One of the most beautiful aspects of Bali is the Bali Villas. These villas provide vacationers with a stunning escape, whether it is on the beach or surrounded by a lush garden. Most of these villas in Bali include luxuries such as personal chefs and pools. While Bali villa rentals can be expensive, there are many features you can do without. By opting for a standard room, your price will significantly drop. Also, there are hundreds of hotels which provide villas on the beach or water. These Bali villas are a lot more affordable, as they are not in their own backyard. However, while these are lower in price, they are not as plush. Vacationers not only lack privacy, but the noise from the hotel may make the experience less serene. Nevertheless, no matter what your preference is, villas in Bali are lavish. If you do have the money to spend, your Bali villa rental will treat you like royalty. You certainly will never be able to forget such a memorable experience.
Bali Island provides more than just a peaceful escape from the fast paced everyday world. It teaches vacationers about a different culture; one that combines family, art, and religion. It is uplifting to see the determination in their eyes and such friendliness from these inhabitants. No matter where you are looking to stay - whether it be a Bali villa or a discount hotel, you can easily find peace and beauty. Bali will leave you wanting more, and perhaps you will stay an extra week or two.

If you want to explore the Indonesian waters especially when you wish to learn to dive in Bali's clear, blue oceans, then you must also consider picking the perfect spots for you do plunge in the deep and see the beauty beneath the ocean's surface. When you land in Bali and you wish to have a diving cruise with your family and friends, consider these different hot spots around the city.
If you choose to learn to dive in Bali, you could try plunging into the waters of Sanur and Nusa Dua. They have moderately-deep coral reefs and are just five minutes away if you plan to go there through boat. You'll also be amazed with its collection of fishes. Adventure and Leisure Activities From The Best Luxury Bali Villas
Bali is a heavenly island belonging to the Indonesian archipelago on the Indian Ocean. It is one of the world's main tourist destinations, a place full of magic, exoticism and beauty where you will enjoy an absolutely unforgettable holiday in an incomparable natural setting. Besides its incredible beaches, Bali offers all sorts of adventure tours in the most beautiful settings as well as countless relaxing or exciting activities. Here is a list of some of the most interesting activities and adventures you can enjoy in Bali.
Golfing
Among the many activities that you can enjoy in Bali, golf must definitely be at the top of the list, not only because it goes perfectly with the atmosphere and relax of the island, but also because golf courses in Bali offer stunning sightseeing and great golfing conditions. There are 7 main golf courses in Bali, namely the Bali Golf & Country Club, the Nirwana Bali Golf Club, the Bali Handara Kosaido Country Club, the Bali Beach Golf, the Finna Golf Course, the Jagorawi Gold and Country Club and the New Kuta Golf Club. All of them are quite challenging and offer varied and fun rounds. But most of all, the climate in Bali is ideal for golfing and for holidays and the natural environment is absolutely outstanding, with the dramatic ocean views and lush Balinese landscapes.
Trekking
You can't say you like adventure and not join one of the countless trekking tours in Bali! We do recommend you either to join one of these tours or to get yourself your own guide, since it is fairly easy to get lost in some of the tracks on the island. There are all sorts of routes you can take, and they are all amazing. You can trek through rice paddy fields -which are quite unique-, through rainforests and bamboo forests, through picturesque villages -like the village of Taro, one of Bali's oldest Hindu villages (3000 to 4000 years old!) and home of the renowned Sacred White Cows of Bali-, through all sorts of plantations of tropical trees that give fruits you've may never have heard of, like the salak or the durian or up mountains like Batur, Agung or Rinjani.
Sailing
Sailing may sound less adventurous than trekking but is certainly an exciting experience in Bali. The best way to do it is on sailing catamarans, which are quite fast and very stable. You can rent the catamaran for as long as you want and for any time of the day -remember that sunrise and sunset in Bali are quite spectacular!-. Moreover, when getting a catamaran you don't need to merely go sailing; you can also fish, dive, surf, go visit some special sites or animals -like the impressive Komodo dragons- or just enjoy a relaxing day in the middle of the sea.
If you want to enjoy all kinds of relaxing or exciting activities you should stay in one of the fantastic luxury Bali villas, where you will get all the information you need in order to enjoy this fascinating island, its marvelous natural setting and the countless opportunities for adventure it offers. The most attractive option for accommodation is definitely to go for one of the incredible offers of Bali villa rentals, including the best villas in Seminyak, Bali, which offer all sorts of top-quality services at competitive rates and in truly beautiful places in this unique island.

Where to Go in Bali Island? - Top 5 Destinations Other Than Kuta Beach Bali
The majority of the Bali travelers go to the most popular Bali destinations such as Kuta beach, Nusa Dua, Seminyak and Ubud. But despite Bali being a small island there is much more to see and experience than just these villages.
If you are curious what else Bali has to offer, make sure you continue reading for this article will list 5 destination that are definitely worth staying but where most travelers eventually don't reach.
Be aware though that these destinations can be very quiet. So if you really need a relaxing holiday then these are definitely the places you should consider...
Candidasa:
Candidasa is probably one of the most famous of all the 5 villages listed here. What was once a famous tourist village, today it can get pretty deserted in certain periods of the year. It's probably not that popular as it is right at the seashore but it doesn't have a real beach.
However depending on your hotel you can still go swimming during high tide. A good place to jump into the water is Alam Asmara Dive Resort.
But the nicest thing about Candidasa is that it has a relaxing atmosphere plus from here it's easy to explore the eastern part of the Bali island. This part of the island offers great places to experience the Balinese culture and nature.
Amed:
Amed actually consists of 5 little fishing villages set along the coast. Amed doesn't have soft sanded beach and is therefore mostly famous among die-hard divers who spend most of their Bali holiday under water.
However besides Bali scuba diving, the very lay back Amed is a great place to escape the crowd and to enjoy your holiday to unwind. And besides, the sea view in Amed Bali is terrific. It's impossible to get bored of the blue emerald water.
Munduk:
Set in the mountains this village is an ideal spot to go Bali hiking, visit waterfalls and to escape the heat;-). It's a wonderful place to wander around and take the trails that take you along local houses, plantations, and forest.
And when you get back at your hotel and you sip hot cup of tea you have a magnificent view over the rice fields and mountains. On a clear day you might even see the ocean...
Pemuteran:
This village is located in the north western part of Bali and is blessed with an amazing coral garden just 20 minutes away. So as you can imagine, like Amed it's mostly popular among Bali scuba diving and snorkeling lovers.
But the nice thing about Pemuteran are the beautiful beaches, the mountain landscape and that despite the presence of the resorts, the village is still pretty underdeveloped. It probably still looks like Kuta beach Bali in the 1980's.
Balian:
This tiny village is located in western Bali island and everyday surfers wade into the water to catch the excellent waves. So as you can imagine this is one of the most relaxing places on the island. Every body just takes it very easy here.
If you are not into surfing, then it's still an excellent place to enjoy the food and sea breeze while catching up on all the books you wanted to read but never had time to do it.

Here he shares all his experiences about the island and also checks out where you can find tasty food, classy hotels and what you can see and do.
